Fed up with playing the blame game? Ready to heal the wounds of the past? Looking for the courage to become more of who you are?
Past wounds can become potent medicine for us to live genuinely meaningful and creative lives or, they can be an undermining and powerful poison that saps the sense of soul from our lives, leaving us lost in confusion and an ongoing cycle of pain. Difficult as it may sometimes seem, the choice is ours to make.
Phoenix Rising invokes the power of phoenix medicine which can help you with this choice. Moving through the cycle of life, death and rebirth, you will access potent tools for daily life that will strengthen your resilience, cultivate your presence and free you from the damaging drama triangle of the victim–persecutor–rescuer dance. You will be guided to find a space of refuge inside you where you can reconnect with the wildness and power of ‘nature unbroken’ within you and around you. This place reminds us of the mystery of life and helps us to navigate through it.
The phoenix is the central icon of Movement Medicine practice. It invites us to participate in the healing that is necessary for us to make the impossible possible, one step at a time. Whatever our individual and tribal wounds, we all have within us the power to overcome them and become part of a growing new story in which we recognise ourselves and each other as part of one global human family, all of us part of the web of life on which we all depend.

Exploring our purpose means the acceptance of our life experience, unraveling some of its life long stories and what we have made them to mean. Our purpose is born through us and the challenges we meet along the way are divinely there to sculpt us and shape us into who we are and what we are here to offer, yet how we view our own stories might need to make way for something entirely new, even more revealing and much more inline with our potential.
Middle Earth Medicine takes us on nine stages of soul work, integrating soul through personal development, soul-retrieval, creativity and ecstatic dance.
This particular medicine wheel not only supports your personal growth, but offers deeply healing experiences and meditations to open the heart and re-member a broken innocence. We learn to use the tools that can physically put us in touch with our purpose on this planet, guides that will support us on the journey and the very particular archetypal quality we need to embrace. We journey with each of the archetypes and their dwelling places, time of life, tools and resources, to establish the current position of soul and purpose.
Without careful observance and enquiry into knowing where we are in the cycle of our souls offering, it is almost impossible to know what stage we are at and what we need to embody before we can fully move on to the next stage. We can do this with the support of our community, listening to their experiences and learning and growing together. Often we can find ourselves trying to move on too quickly to the next stage before fully engaging with the last, thus meeting with the same challenges over and over again without fulfillment. We learn, one step at a time, patiently unfolding what is truly intended for us.
During this syllabus, Caroline will guide you through the wheel, using movement meditations, outdoor work, self reflection, sharing and creativity. She will share her own story of the Wheels discovery and the maps that have led to the Middle Earth Medicine path. No matter what your experience, no matter what your age or position in life, this Medicine Wheel may be able to support you on a journey of discovery.
Movement Medicine is a synthesis of shamanic, therapeutic and devotional pathways creating gateways for meaningful, lasting healing and deep dreaming. The Mandala is a contemporary map to support, deepen and enrich your dance through life and provides a tool-kit of practical and subtle exercises relevant for meeting the challenges of the times we live in.
In this workshop you will have the opportunity to bring attention, creativity and the medicine of movement to the connections in your life. The subtle, strong and clear practices of Movement Medicine can deepen and enliven existing connections and create the conditions to explore new ways to be in relationship with life on all levels. What are you connected to? What matters to you in this life? What conditions support you to relax into who you are, be fully present and awake in yourself and be in conscious, clear and alive connection with others? We will explore these questions through the strong practices and subtle maps of Movement Medicine. Together we will co-create and dance into ceremony to explore and deepen these connections with ourselves, others, our communities, the living earth, unseen support and the Great Mystery. When we recognise, open to and receive the support and inspiration available to us within these circles of life, we create ground for acceptance of ourselves and each other and we can give what we are here to give in this lifetime. You will have the chance to dance with and map the circles of connection in your life to strengthen your own circle and bring a fresh perspective to your relationship with life on all levels. You will come away with a tool-kit of simple, practical, useful exercises to cultivate the garden of your life. All welcome.

The Alchemist’s Garden is Movement Medicine for the heart. The dancer inside you knows how to shape, energise, communicate and let go of whatever arises in the dance. For the dancer, all experience, be it physical, emotional or rooted in the mind, is another invitation to create with life.
The Alchemist’s Garden retreat reminds us of what e-motion (energy in motion) is for. When we bring together the kinaesthetic intelligence of the body, the consciousness of the embodied mind, and the instincts of our animal hearts, we become much more aware of the choices we are making either consciously or unconsciously. These choices affect our perception and therefore our experience of life.
The body was made to dance. And when we truly set the dancer inside us free, we will inevitably meet the places inside us that remain colonised by past pain or trauma. Our intention will be the transformation of the lead of our personal and ancestral histories into the gold of present moment awareness. We will work with the five chambers of the heart (awakening, integrity, surrender, gratitude and grace) as a medicine wheel. This alchemical process works directly with the physical structure of the body to strengthen our core and create energetic support for the heart. Through this process, we will dispel ancient shadows and recover the instinctive and intuitive power of the embodied heart.
Part of our work is the creation of a temple of installations. These installations will form the bedrock of the landscape we call The Alchemist’s Garden, in which we will spend the last night of the workshop in ceremony. In this garden of possibility, the dancer is able to create the appropriate alchemical mixture for purification, healing and dancing prayer for themselves and for all our relations.
