Ya’Acov Darling Khan

From a young age, Ya’Acov has been drawn to the down-to-earth connection with the spirit world that shamanism invites. He has pursued this yearning throughout his adult life, studying and practicing with many gifted teachers around the world. He has been recognised as a practicing shaman (*) by Elder Shamans from the Sami (European tradition), and Achuar and Sápara peoples of the Amazon. His Movement Medicine workshops are inspiring, empowering, contemporary and practical and are attended by people from all walks of life.

Ya’Acov teaches with mastery, one ear listening for guidance from beyond. He creates a field of trance in which the psyche can build and mend. His workshops are vast landscapes where the soul can dream wholeness.

Life really does have a sense of humour. How does a guy, raised near Liverpool, who as a teenager, only ever danced when he was drunk, get to become a movement teacher? At the age of 21, I got a wake up call when I was hit by lightening on a golf course. After this and until recently, I struggled for years to come to terms with a perception of life that only traditional Shamanism could explain. Along the way, I had to carve out a sense of normality and accept that this being’s soul speaks the language of dance, ritual and prayer. I have come to recognise that re-awakening and forever deepening a sense of the magic, potential and splendour of creation in as many people as possible, is the blessing I am lucky enough to call my job!
